Grief Counselling:
Supporting Your Healing Journey
Grieving is different for everyone. It can hit hard, it can feel physical, it can affect your thoughts and behaviours, and it is often unpredictable and uncontrollable. Grief – in all its forms – is a normal response to an abnormal situation. It is part of the human condition and nearly everyone will experience it throughout their lifetime.
Whether your grief is from the loss of a loved one, a pregnancy, a relationship, a pet, a job, your health or a way of life, grieving is real and should not be dismissed. It may last a short time or stay with you forever.
Grief is a process rather than an event. A way of adapting to a new normal rather than getting over the past.
The most important thing when grieving is to take care of yourself and ask for help when you need it.
We'll move at your pace. I recognise that there is no single path to healing. With empathy and patience, I will walk alongside you, offering a safe space for you to share your story and express your emotions freely. Your healing journey will unfold naturally, and I will adapt my approach according to your needs and preferences.
Finding strategies for coping. Grief can leave us feeling helpless and overwhelmed. I will work closely with you to explore effective coping strategies tailored to your circumstances and identify healthy ways to navigate through the pain, allowing you to regain a sense of control over your life.
Experiencing grief in a healthful way. It's common for individuals to suppress their emotions while grieving, resulting in long-term challenges. I will gently guide you towards experiencing grief in a healthful way. Through supportive conversations and evidence-based techniques, to help you honour your feelings, process your grief, and move towards acceptance, growth and meaning.
